FAQ about the FastTrack Pass
What is a FastTrack Pass?
A FastTrack Pass allows you quick access to Cannabis Social Clubs.
Who can get a FastTrack Pass?
In Spain, people over 21 years of age can get a FastTrack Pass. Some clubs also accept a minimum age of 18 years. Minors are not allowed to enter the club.
Are tourists allowed to join a Social Club?
In Spain, there is no official regulation that requires members to live in the same location as the Cannabis Social Club (CSC). However, some Social Clubs do not accept tourists as members because they want to remain a closed, private network for local members only. As a rule of thumb: If you find a Social Club online, they tend to be more flexible when it comes to new members.
What do I need for my first visit to a Cannabis Social Club (CSC)?
For your first visit, you need your ID to verify your identity and age. Some clubs also require an invitation from an existing member.
Pay attention to your appearance and behavior. If you behave in an unpleasant manner, your chances of membership decrease. The club alone decides whether to make you a member or not.
Can I take cannabis out of the club?
No, in Spain it is illegal to have or consume cannabis in public. If you choose to ignore this, you do so at your own risk.
Can I buy THC products or cannabis in the Social Club?
The sale of cannabis in Social Clubs is typically structured as a distribution of the club’s collective yield to its members rather than a traditional purchase. You usually have the option to invest any amount of money in the club. The deposited amount will be registered on your membership card. Inside the Social Club, you can then access cannabinoids, THC products, and cannabis with your membership card.
Why do I need to be a member?
In Spain, the consumption of cannabis is only legal in private spaces and controlled environments. Therefore, Cannabis Social Clubs (CSC) are closed clubs and not accessible to the public. If they were publicly accessible, they would be illegal.
Is cannabis legal in Spain?
Yes and no, in general, cannabis is not legal in Spain, especially in public. However, there are exceptions: you can grow up to two plants at home, as long as they are not visible to the public and you do not bother anyone. In CSCs, you can also legally consume cannabis.
How much does cannabis cost in Spain?
Prices vary significantly. Depending on the location, you can expect prices between six and 25€ per gram.
What is the difference between a Social Club and a Coffee Shop?
Many people mistakenly believe that a Social Club in Spain is the same as a Coffee Shop in Amsterdam, Netherlands. This is not true! Coffee Shops in the Netherlands are publicly accessible, anyone can buy cannabis there, and membership is not required. In Spain, the legal situation is much stricter, and Social Clubs are only accessible to members.
